HardWear Style is a Bronx NYC based/Black-owned lifestyle brand comprised of style-forward hand-made hats & utilitarian luxury apparel. Each piece is made from the finest skins & premium fabrics on the market. The brand motto is style hard or stay home!

HardWear Style’s creative director K. Tyson Perez says “The brand is inspired by subtle flamboyance. We want our customers to be able to make a statement of individuality, without having to scream it in logo prints & obnoxious colors. The “Stylecon” that is the HardWear Style patron exudes a confidence that doesn’t succumb to trends, yet leads as a trendsetter.”

K. Tyson Perez founder and creative director attended Parsons School of Design to study Fashion Design, but wound up in career as a fashion stylist & editor. After 15 years of working with other designer brands, recording artists & magazines, KTP decided to come full circle and get back to his roots of fashion design in 2015. Beginning with using brass lettering, purchased from a vintage hardware store in NYC and mounting them onto baseball caps; for the likes of hip hop and pop culture stars such as Kanye West, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian and Atlanta rapper Jeezy. The HardWear Style brand began gaining notoriety, garnering coverage in The New York Times, The Huffington Post and multiple international fashion publications. Always looking for ways to expand and add innovation to his designs, Tyson introduced in his zipper motif leather fedora in 2014 and quickly began adding the big brim, bucket hat, baseball cap and rodeo styles to the Zip-Hard collection.

While most creatives were forced to “pivot” during the Covid-19 pandemic, he began to design a capsule apparel collection based off what he feels are 8 “must have” and “interchangeable” pieces everyone should have in their wardrobe. And as If that doesn’t require the majority of his time and attention, K Tyson Perez is also the co-owner (alongside his brother Sean Perez) of the premium all-natural men’s grooming product line King Beard Care. K. Tyson Perez says “You have to present your best self at all times and I believe that starts head first- for me a dope hat and a well groomed beard is going to be two the first things people recognize and remember me for.” Both brands can be purchased on the e-commerce websites www.
